Originally announced in February of 2000, WCW Mayhem 2 is the PlayStation 2’s first installment of Electronic Art’s popular wrestling franchise. Moving in a whole new direction, this Aki-developed grappler features all the biggest stars of the WCW including Ric Flair, Booker T, Big Poppa Pump, and Sting. Additional features for this sequel include a cinematic storyline with branching paths, more than 1000 different wrestling maneuvers and submissions, multiple match types like first blood and gauntlet, and several other fan-oriented surprises.
Unfortunately for fans, WCW Mayhem 2 was never completed as the WWF’s purchase of the WCW in March of 2001 negated Electronic Art’s licensing deal. The technology and engine, however, were later used in part for EA’s future wrestling title, Def Jam Vendetta.
WCW BeanBag Brawlers Series #1 and Series #2
STOMWIJF from over at the WrestlingFigs forum posted his collection of BeanBag Brawlers, several of which I had never seen before. I remember seeing guys from the first two photos (Series #1), but everyone from the other shots (Series #2) are brand new to me.
I must have that Vampiro…

Rare extended footage of Triple H’s infamous Tough Enough speech (ripped from the season one DVD)
Most of you have probably seen this speech before - a fired up Triple H telling the contestants from season one of Tough Enough what it means to be in the wrestling business. But this is an extended version found only on the season one DVD, and I don’t believe it has been posted in full online before.
Among other things, the clip sees Triple H tell the group why exactly they shouldn’t idolize Bill Goldberg.
On this day: Despite a chair shot from Kanyon and a Stunner by Stone Cold, Kurt Angle catches Booker T in the Ankle Lock and makes him tap out to win the WCW World Championship in his hometown, marking the first time the WCW Title changed hands on WWF programming. (7/24/01)
Bash at the Beach was WCW! But this set still rules.
